WHICH USES AR SJV PUMP
The AR SJV pump is one of the best made for the consumer market.
The AR SJV pump is a well designed pump. The factory designed features make it one of the easiest pumps to work on.
Your repair will be reliable also.
The above picture shows an AR SJV pump prior to installation onto a pressure washer.
The overall length of the pump is about 8 1/2 inches to 8 3/4 inches in length.
Notice the black vent plug laying on the pump. This black vent plug should be installed in place of the red plug. The red plug shown is for when the pump is being shipped, to keep the oil from coming out. Remove the red plug and install the black vent plug.
Notice the left side, that is the engine mounting end. Four mounting bolts should be used to mount this pump. Use our bolt and washer kit 192131GS.
NO PUMP DISASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED TO INSTALL THIS PUMP.
Notice the lower right corner of the PICTURE, the brass plug in the lower right is to be removed for installation of a thermal relief valve. Use our part number 194298GS thermal relief valve.
Notice the four mount holes for mounting the pump to the engine.
The bolt pattern is aproximately 2 3/4 inch square and is made to an industry standard for mounting this pump to most all horizontal engines made for pressure washer use.
Also notice the pump drive and key way. You must use a key to mate the engine shaft and the pump shaft. Also put some antiseize compound on the engine shaft. In fact, it is always a good idea to remove the pump about once a year to clean this surface and re-apply the anti-seize. There have been some pumps to stick to the engine shaft making pump removal impossible without destroying the pump.
EASY START FEATURE ON SOME AR SJV PUMPS
The easy start feature was designed to make engine starting easier.
This feature is only available on centain AR SJV pumps
with a -1 indication on the model number, i.e. SJV2.5G27-1
The image above shows the easy start ball reference 82 and easy start spring reference 83.
If you are having trouble with your pump not producing any pressure
check the spring, it may be broken into several pieces.
To check for this broken spring, remove the four mounting bolts, holdiing
the pump onto the engine, remove the ball and spring.
Replace the spring if broken.

While you have the pump removed from the engine, clean up the engine shaft and also change the pump oil using part number AR64545 bottle of oil.
