For push mowers the tag is usually on the rear most surface of the mower deck. For items like generators and pressure washers look on the frame and some times on the engine. Look near spark plugs on metal starter housings, stamped numbers in the metal. Look Under plastic covers over pull start housings, sometimes they are stamped on or near the spark plug, on the metal pull start housing, yet hidden by the top cover on small 4.0 hp and engines. Look on Muffler Guards, sometimes they are stamped on metal parts near the muffler. Look on the Valve Cover or Rocker Arm Cover for numbers stamped. Sometimes you will find a printed lable and metal stampings, use the metal stamped number if the numbers are different.
